My parents and sister were visiting so we decided to make a
visit to Edinburgh.

While it was July, it could have been winter in
Edinburgh.  Pouring rain and cold along
with the grey skies made this city feel dark and gothic.  That said, it is beautiful and full of
character.  The landscape is green and
the city is spread over a series of rocky hills, giving a different perspective
from every angle you view it.

Unless you are keen to see the museums, a long weekend is plenty to get a good feel for the city.  It is small and walkable, and has a lot to offer.
