Following a great week of cruising in the Adriatic, I decided to sign up for my first-ever regatta, the AB Cup. The Alumni Business Cup is an annual regatta where alumnae from various business schools come together for a long weekend of racing.
This year’s regatta was held in lle de Embiez, a picturesque island in the French Rivera. We flew into Marseille, and then took a taxi down to Le Brusc, where we were able to catch a ferry to the island.
The island itself was perfect for a group of sailors – it was easy to walk around, we all had accommodation on the island itself — we were staying in flats at Hotel Helios (which was a nice change to living on a boat!)
Unfortunately, our practice team didn’t happen due to wind conditions (too windy), but we did get in a fair bit of racing.
The days were spent racing, whereas the evenings were spent sipping champagne and cocktails at the bar and enjoying nice dinners. Overall, a perfect French holiday.
