I had been told that the moment you enter the state of Vermont, everything is green. And it’s true – the Green Mountain state has beautiful foliage.  Given its mountainous terrain, it’s a great state for any who loves the outdoors.  While it wasn’t ski season, we took advantage of a long weekend at Nick and Priya’s ski chalet, and managed to get in some fun hiking and climbing.

We planted ourselves at Stratton Mountain, as that is where their chalet was.  While most of the restaurants were closed due to COVID, we were fortunate to have a kitchen and be able to cook the majority of our meals.

While we went for a long weekend, we managed to work remotely and still hike in between.  We hiked around Stratton Mountain but also visited Hamilton Falls and hiked part of the Appalachian Trail.

We also went slightly further up north to Killington and get in a day of climbing at Deer Leap Crag.

Overall, a great long weekend and a nice summer escape from the city!
